Union, NE. A little village not far from southern Omaha. A little Airbnb that’s also an junk shop brought us to the town: a lovely stay! This image caught me as we strolled around.

Shawn, On first seeing, I reacted to the bleakness of the place. Later, I asked my self if the place was really that bleak even on what is a sunny day, a day, knowing the time of year, that is chilly. I wondered if my reaction wasn’t simply a mirror of my perspective on what life should be like. I love this photo. Dan

Thank you, Dan. It’s always interesting me how our preconceived notions and perspectives influence how we react to a photo or really anything. Your comment has me thinking a bit deeper on what attracted me to the photo in the first place. The trailer is so tightly bounded by the fence. There’s a definite bleakness and sense of isolation yet an yet an air of possibility with the trees stretching into the bright blue sky.
